Joe the Plumber Rally in Springfield

Monday, May 10th, 2010

Missouri State Auditor candidate, Allen Icet, announces Springfield rally featuring nationally known conservative and tea party rally speaker, Joe the Plumber.

RSVP on FacebookAllen Icet, candidate for Missouri State Auditor, is announcing today that he will be holding a rally at the Ramada Oasis Inn at 2546 North Glenstone Avenue, Springfield, MO from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM on May 20, 2010.  Nationally recognized conservative Joe the Plumber has been rallying for conservative causes since his televised questioning of President Barack Obama’s tax plan.  On May 20th he joins others in support of Icet’s Auditor campaign.

“The Auditor’s office is the last line of defense when it comes to the fight against government waste and fraud, and it takes someone with experience handling a budget like Allen to watch out for the taxpayers,” comments Joe on the election for Auditor.  He continues, “And no matter what office it is, I’m sure the people of Missouri want their watchdog to be principled, and to share the same values they do.  That is why Allen Icet is the man for the job and why I’m proud to support him in his campaign.”

“I met Joe the Plumber at last year’s Fair Tax rally in Columbia, MO.  He’s a down to earth, principled, no nonsense type of guy, “explains Representative Shane Schoeller.  Representative Schoeller has endorsed Icet along with all the Republican Representatives of Greene County.  “It’s the values I saw Allen exhibit  that led me to endorse him and I look forward to supporting Allen in his campaign and seeing him and Joe the Plumber at the Springfield Rally.  Allen has done so much for Missouri as he’s watched over our budget the past five years and I know he’ll continue to do so when he becomes our next Auditor.”

Dr. William Scott Magill, president of the Missouri Republican Assembly added, “Representative Icet is a statesman who at his core recognizes the importance of guarding the misuse of the people’s resources.  He understands that government serves the people and not vice-versa, will serve unencumbered by special interest to rout out waste and fraud, and protect the taxpayers’ as their guardian.”

The rally will take place at 6:30 PM on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at the Ramada Oasis Inn in Springfield.  Tickets for the event will be $10.00, children are free.  Interested persons may contact Ross Branson with the Icet for Auditor campaign at (573) 645-0553 or by visiting www.icetforauditor.com/joetheplumber.

Allen Icet is serving in the Missouri House for his eighth year representing the 84th district and as Budget Chairman for his fifth.  Allen has gained endorsements from 82 of his fellow colleagues in the House of Representatives and recently won a straw poll and the MRA endorsement at the Missouri Lincoln Days.  He is also supported in his campaign by his wife Carol, three daughters, and his son.

Tuesday, July 7th, 2009

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

St. Louis, MO — State Representative Allen Icet (R-Wildwood), Chairman of the House Budget Committee, announced today his endorsement list from Members in the General Assembly who have publicly endorsed his campaign to run for Missouri State Auditor.

Representative Icet said, “I am honored and gratified today to release the following endorsements of my campaign to be the next Auditor of the State of Missouri. This list of colleagues in the Missouri House speaks for itself. The support from this group of proven leaders is a great testament of their faith in my ability to be the next Missouri State Auditor. These hard working men and women and I have worked together in Jefferson City to bring common sense conservative leadership to Missouri’s future. They have witnessed first hand my conservative principles and that’s why they are supporting my campaign.

Each one of these leaders have proven campaign operations on the ground in the vast majority of the state. This type of grassroots organization will prove to be invaluable as I work diligently to take my message of fiscal restraint and reform to all four corners of this great State. I will work hard during this campaign to make each and every one of these respected lawmakers proud of their courageous and important endorsement of my campaign, Icet concluded.”

Icet has served on the powerful House Budget Committee since he was first elected to the state legislature in 2002. In 2005, Icet became Chairman of the House Budget Committee after serving one year as Vice-Chair. Icet has become well-known for his staunch defense of taxpayer dollars.

Icet received his Bachelor’s of Science Degree from Texas A&M University in Civil Engineering and obtained a Master’s in Business Administration from Washington University (St. Louis). Allen Icet and his wife, Carol, reside in Wildwood, MO. They have four children.
